How affiliate marketing works
What is affiliate marketing, exactly?
You promote a product or service using a unique tracking link. When someone signs up or buys through that link, the merchant pays you a commission — a percentage of the sale, a flat fee, or a recurring cut for as long as that customer stays subscribed, depending on the program.
How do I actually get paid?
Every program sets its own payout terms — refyr just lists them. That typically means: you apply directly to the program, get approved, get a personal tracking link from their dashboard, and they pay you (PayPal, bank transfer, etc.) once your balance clears their minimum payout threshold. Check each program’s detail page for its specific terms.
What does "cookie duration" mean, and why does it matter?
It’s how long a click on your link is credited to you after someone visits but doesn’t buy immediately. A 30-day cookie means you still get credit if they come back and purchase within 30 days; a 24-hour cookie means you likely won’t. Longer cookie windows are generally more valuable for products with a slower buying decision.
What’s the difference between recurring, one-time, and tiered commissions?
Recurring pays you a percentage of every renewal for as long as the customer stays subscribed (common for SaaS). One-time pays a flat amount per sale, once. Tiered increases your commission rate as you refer more sales in a period — refyr lists a program’s base/entry-tier rate, so always check the program’s own terms for the full tier structure.
Do I need my own website or a big audience to start?
No — plenty of affiliates promote through a newsletter, a YouTube channel, social posts, or even direct recommendations. What matters more than audience size is relevance: a smaller, engaged audience that trusts your recommendation in a specific niche often converts better than a large, unrelated one.
Refund policy
Can I get a refund for Pro?
Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable once access has been granted, except where a refund is required by applicable law. See the full billing terms on our Terms page.
Will I be charged again later?
No. Pro is a single payment — there is no renewal and nothing to cancel. You keep lifetime access on that account.
Does refyr take a cut of the money I earn from listed programs?
No. Any commission you earn comes directly from the merchant you applied to — refyr isn’t a party to that relationship and never touches that money. refyr’s only revenue is the optional one-time Pro purchase.
A program I found on refyr turned out to be a scam or never paid me — can refyr refund me?
refyr lists program details but isn’t a party to your agreement with any individual program, so we can’t issue a refund on a merchant’s behalf. Please report it via Contact so we can flag or remove the listing — that protects the next person who’d otherwise apply to it.
Account & billing
How do I get Pro?
From Pricing (or any Upgrade / Get Pro button) — you’ll go through Stripe Checkout for a one-time payment. See Pricing for what Pro includes.
What payment methods are accepted?
Pro is billed through Stripe, which supports major debit/credit cards. We don’t store your card details ourselves — Stripe handles that entirely.
Why would my account still show Free after I paid?
Plan upgrades are applied by Stripe’s webhook a moment after checkout. Refresh the success page or your dashboard — if it still shows Free after a few minutes, email us with your receipt and we’ll fix it.
I signed up with Google — can I also set a password?
Right now, an account is either a Google account or an email/password account, based on how you first signed up. If you need to switch, email us and we’ll help sort it out.
How do I change my email, or delete my account and data?
There’s no self-serve settings page yet for either — email us and we’ll take care of it. Account deletion requests are typically confirmed within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for the full data retention and deletion policy.
